• The Jonesboro Public School District welcomes the involvement of parents and community members in its schools. Volunteers play an important role in assisting our outstanding staff and in providing real life experiences for students.

There are many ways to volunteer, from short-term, one time events, to a long-term commitment,  such as serving on our Board of Education. When a parent, business owner, or other community member shares his or her talents and experiences during a school activity or lesson, our children benefit. Whether you are an interested parent, business owner, or district resident, we have the perfect opportunity for you!

You are encouraged to become involved with Jonesboro Public School District and help enhance student learning!

    Attend a Board Meeting

The Jonesboro Public School Board meets approximately on the first Tuesday of every month at 6pm in the JPS Central Office and residents are always welcome to attend. Click here for the school board meeting schedule.

    Attend a Wellness Meeting

Having healthy choices at school helps keep our children healthy and ready to learn. The school wellness policy helps our school create an action plan for nutrition and physical activity at school. Parents/stakeholders can share their opinions and help make sure the policy is meeting the needs of our students. Contact von.mcdaniel@jonesboroschools.net for more information on attending a wellness meeting.

    Join our Parent-Teacher Organizations

Each school has a parent-teacher organization. They meet on a monthly basis and parents and community members are always welcome to attend. Parents are invited to become members of our parent-teacher organizations. The Academies at Jonesboro High School has a PAT (Parent and Teachers); the junior highs both have Parent Groups and Health & Wellness Magnet, Internationl Studies Magnet, Math & Science Magnet, MicroSociety Magnet and Visual & Performing Arts all have PATHS (Parent and Teachers Helping Students). To learn more about these organizations, contact the school of interest. School Directory

    Volunteer at School

We welcome volunteers at all of our schools. Parents and community members are invited to volunteer to help students on a regular basis, or to volunteer for a specific school or community event. Residents with specific expertise are also invited to present to classes. For more information on how you can help, contact the school where you would like to volunteer. School Directory

    Board Advisory Committees

The Board of Education has several Advisory Committees that invite the participation of both parents and community members. The Academies at Jonesboro High School and The Northeast Arkansas Career and Tech Center both offer the community a chance to be on Board Advisory Committees. Community Partnerships

The Jonesboro Public School District continues to explore new ideas and build strong partnerships within the community that support student learning. Our schools continue to benefit from many collaborative efforts with area businesses and organizations that help prepare today's students for the future. If your business is interested in forming a partnership with a particular school, please contact the campus in which you are interested, or contact our Assistant Superintendent, William Cheatham at the JPS Central Office, 870.933.5800. School Directory
