Ms. Paula Brown

My name is Paula Brown. I am the mother of two awesome sons, Brady and Ben. I am the fulltime elementary counselor at International Studies. I have an elementary/early childhood degree. In college my student teaching/internship was in kindergarten and second grade. My first job was teaching second grade at Hillcrest Elementary. Since then, I have taught third, fourth, and fifth grades at different Jonesboro schools. Although I loved being in the classroom, I returned to college shortly after I started my teaching career to earn a masters in school counseling. It was evident to me that there were many children with emotional needs that needed more than the quick fix I could give them in the classroom. It was my desire to work with students more extensively in the areas of social and emotional development. I have served as the counselor at SAC, JKC, South Elementary, and now International Studies. Over the years, I have truly enjoyed being a part of my school’s educational team. I am privileged to help students in many areas – academic achievement, social/emotional development, and career planning. It is my job to help students become productive, caring, and well-adjusted future adults. I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to work with students and families in this capacity. They have been an unbelievable blessing in my life. I am excited as I look forward to helping and serving many more.
