Why choose The Academies at JHS? The choice is simple. JHS offers the most opportunities of any of the 5 school districts in Jonesboro. JHS has an impressive list of advance placement courses and 33 hours of concurrent credit available. JHS offers core emphasis Academies: Business, Communication Arts, and Law (BCAL); Health and Human Services (HHS) and Science Technology, Engineering & Math (STEM). JHS is also known for their Golden Hurricane athletics, with over 80 state championship titles & 15 team sports available, including our recently added E-Sports Team. Our Fine Arts programs excel with award winning art, band, choral, and drama departments in not only our high school but in our junior highs as well. To help students choose an Academy to fit their education goals, Annie Camp Junior High and MacArthur Junior High campuses use Keystone courses and project-based learning to find an Academy for students that best suits them. Please feel free to set up a school tour by calling the JHS front office: 870.933.5881.
