    A tentative itinerary follows. PLEASE read everything below ... and PLEASE forward this information to any of our classmates who don’t use social media.

     

    '74+50 REUNION WEEKEND: OCTOBER 18-20, 2024

    Friday, October 18:

    • JHS homecoming football game vs. Marion High School: '74+50 will tailgate in the grassy area in front of the JHS Performing Arts Center. Look for the 50-year JHS Reunion banner and/or canopy tent. More details about food, etc., as we get closer. This will be a "first chance" for classmates to mingle/get reacquainted. Tentative start time is 5 p.m.
    • Class '74+50 reception and evening social at the home of Tony and Jackie Pardew, 1325 Nettleton Circle. Light hors d'oeuvres and some drinks provided (Might need a classmate chef or two, besides me, to rustle up some food. Also seeking some folks to bring your be st dish, potluck style. Other details later ...). A great time to see everyone and get reacquainted before the main event on Saturday. Tentative start time is 6 p.m. End time is when Tony kicks us off of his property.
    • NOTE: Some of you may want to stay for all or part of the JHS homecoming football game vs. Marion and attend the Pardew event afterward.

    Saturday, October 19:

    • '74+50 MAIN EVENT. Social hour, banquet buffet dinner and entertainment - live band (unless the Zombies are playing…) and dancing. Location: Embassy Suites by Hilton Jonesboro Red Wolf Convention Center. We have a block of 25 rooms at the Embassy Suites being held for use at a discount rate of $134/night plus taxes, fees. (Total is $306.86 for two nights). Reservations: 870-619-4482.

    **HOTEL RESERVATIONS ARE BEING ACCEPTED NOW**

    • Some of these plans are still in development and will be updated.
    • Additionally, the committee is considering daytime events Saturday that might include a golf scramble, formal 'Tea', or Dutch treat breakfast or lunch ... If you have any ideas or would like to host something, please alert us.

     

     

     

     

    Sunday, October 20:

    • We are going to try something a little different for Sunday. Two of our classmates are planning a special Sunday service at the church where one classmate is the local pastor. Any and all are welcome to attend (more later...)

     

    REUNION TICKETS/RESERVATIONS:

    Linda Elwood Denny, our reunion treasurer, is handling all of the funds and transactions. Our bank account is now active at Centennial Bank to receive money and ensure necessary payments to vendors and others are made, as necessary. No other committee member besides Linda will handle any money.

     

    Class of ’74 Reunion Attendance Reservations:

    We are ready to start taking attendance reservations and issue confirmation for the coming 50th Reunion Main Event.

     

    ’74 Reunion Attendance Pricing:

    • $65 per Individual
    • $120 per Couple

     

    Linda Elwood Denny (lindaraedenny@gmail.com) is our Class of ’74 Reunion Treasurer and has kindly agreed to process our reservations and manage payments. The class of ’74 has a regular banking/checking account with Centennial Bank in Jonesboro. We are positioned to accept payments as follows:

    Zelle (preferred):

    • Log onto to your own personal on-line banking website or app (you might have to contact your bank…).
    • Find the option or icon:   “Send money with Zelle®. “
      • Should be found under “Transfers”.
    • Click on the “get started, accept terms and conditions, select email address; click continue, enter verification code on website, select account you want $ to come out and click continue, etc.”
    • Select “Send” and enter: “Lindaraedenny@gmail.com” and the name “JHS Class of 74”.
    • Enter amount, click “review”, click “send”.
    • An email will arrive, and Linda will complete the transaction.

    Donations

    We might ask for additional donations to the class fund to make sure all costs are covered beyond the price of admission so that all classmates who want to attend can, regardless of their budget. Several individuals have already generously offered to 'subsidize' portions the event with additional funds, as necessary.

     

    Possible Attendance: From the responses we received in our non-scientific poll of possible/probable attendees and based on previous reunion attendance, we will be fortunate to have 60 classmates and their spouses/significant others/plus-ones. We encourage you to bring your adult children to the reunion, but please leave the grandkids and babies home on Saturday night.
