Local Civil Rights Figure, Ethel Thompkins, Visits Students

JHS students who won spots through their Civil Rights Essay contest were able to hear guest speaker Ethel Thompkins, who was a part of the Hoxie School desegregation process in the 1950s. We also appreciated the participation of investigative journalist George Jared to facilitate the conversation. These same students will tour the Civil Rights Museum in Memphis next week.
