JKC Students Learn Drum Techniques

JKC students are learning to play the Tubano drums. They have learned how to make the high and low sounds and how to support a song through the drums.

Research shows that drumming helps students with decision making and developing impulse control. It also helps increase memory skills. Drumming aids in core strength and hand eye coordination while incorperating gross and fine motor skills. These drums were funded by a Donors Choose project initiated by our music teacher, Jackie Boyd.
