In November 2024, Dr. Kim Wilbanks announced her retirement after serving 19 years as superintendent of Jonesboro Public Schools (JPS). Her dedicated leadership will conclude at the end of the 2024-25 school year, marking the beginning of a new chapter for the district. For the first time in nearly two decades, the JPS Board of Education is embarking on a search for a new superintendent to guide the district into the future.
